It is springtime in Texas and the hail is here. Northern Texas was hammered this last weekend with very large chunks of hail. The damage was significant. Hail ripped through homes, buildings, and vehicles.

Hail hammers Denton, Collin; tornado confirmed in Justin | Weather | Dallas News Severe weather made its way across North Texas on Sunday evening, hammering Collin and Denton counties with hail and delivering at least one tornado.
A strong rotation was spotted southwest of Justin about 7:30 p.m., and those in the area were encouraged to take shelter. The Justin Fire Department later confirmed a tornado. The National Weather Service is likely to provide further confirmation and assessment of the tornado in the coming days.
The severe storm also brought hail ranging from golf ball- to softball-size hail in many parts of Denton and Collin counties.
Although many parts of the area were under a tornado or severe thunderstorm watch for most of the evening, the storms moved out of the area by early Monday morning.
Larger than quarter-size hail was spotted in Justin, and baseball-size hail was reported to have broken some windows in Argyle. Golf ball- to baseball-size hail was reported in Lantana. Read more…
