TAG | hell

I was at the Spurs-Rockets game last night with some friends from Houston. I love living in San Antonio but I think theATT Center (formerly SBC Center) is a second rate if not downright poor venue for entertainment. First, the location is horrible. I’m totally for redeveloping historically underutilized areas but what the hell happened to all the development that was promised so that it provided more jobs to East Side area. Then the facility itself is cramped and just plain ugly. It blends right into the industrial area with its cheap tin looking roof. The parking is horrible and why the hell do they charge for it? It’s not like it’s downtown or anything else around there. I’m embarassed to bring my out of town friends there for Spurs games. Overall, the city messed up bigtime with this facility. I predict it will be an obsolete eyesore when the Spurs lease is up and they demand a new arena downtown or move to Austin or something.
Just some clarification…I’m not exactly pinning blame on anyone in particular. Yeah, I realize it is on county property and budget but I feel the city leadership should have stepped up. I think then mayor Howard Peak deserves most of the blame for having the charisma of an office plant and not able to work some deal somewhere downtown which would have been beneficial to everyone. I agree about the Spurs mgmt…best in pro sports!!! I just think they deserved better.

Alright, so I live in Fort Worth Texas, and although I’m out in the country Woodpeckers are very rare here, but we have the same Woodpecker that comes around frequently and he keeps pecking on my roof (along with our neighbors in the area, because I hear him)! Why the hell is he pecking on my roof? I thought they pecked on trees! Could he damage my roof? Also, how do I get him to stop? He sounds like a flipping jackhammer!
